Petersburg police have noticed a dramatic increase in residential burglaries over the last 3 months. Although most of these break-ins are taking place during daylight hours, police are receiving very few calls about suspicious people or activities being observed. Most of the residences are being entered by way of rear windows and doors. Some are known to have been left open or unlocked but, in most cases, force is used to gain entry. Reports indicate that cash, electronics, and specific clothing items are being taken. The public is being urged to become more aware of what is going on in their neighborhoods. If you are suspicious about what you see, call the police and report it. We would rather respond to a false alarm than have to investigate a crime. Crime Solvers pays rewards of up to $1,000.00 in cash for information that leads to an arrest. If you know anything about these break-ins, or you have information about any crime or fugitive in the Petersburg or Dinwiddie County area, call Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212. You never have to give your name or testify in court to earn the reward. All Crime Solvers calls are kept completely confidential. CRIMES ARE SOLVED WHEN THE COMMUNITY IS INVOLVED!!! |
